Cajun Champs is an excellent sampler that explores traditional Louisiana music lovingly compiled by two well-known scholars of the genre, Chris Strachwitz, the president of Arhoolie Records, and Beausoleil fiddler Michael Doucet. The tracks cover five decades of music dominated by the finest traditional fiddlers, accordionists, and vocalists. While all of this material has been previously released, the disc sounds great and is highly recommended as a starting point for the novice. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide Released in 2004, 22 tracks, including:
