New Page 1Paul Lawrence Grant II, a.k.a. J. Paul Jr., is quintessentially the “Zydeco Rebel.” With his own style and sound, he has taken zydeco to the next level nationally. The son of a pastor, Paul grew up in Conroe, TX playing drums in his father’s church. He spent 3 years playing drums with Step Rideau and the Zydeco Outlaws before picking up the accordion. Soon after, Paul formed his own band and started performing at local clubs, churches and different events. Stronger comes in after a long line of CDs previously released by Paul, with no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Released in March 2009, 13 tracks, including:
